Soggy Waders Fly Shop was established in February of 2023. What began as a delightful way to connect with the outdoors and share quality time with family and friends evolved into a genuine passion for the art of fly fishing. Over the past seven years, my daughter and I have embarked on countless adventures along the rivers of the Rocky Mountains, pursuing various fish and creating enduring memories with our dear friends. Encouraged by numerous requests for custom flies from our circle, we decided to launch this online store to showcase our creations and the experiences that inspired them.

Behind the name of our company lies a captivating story. A close friend of ours, a regular fishing companion, has a peculiar knack for finding himself immersed in the river. The details of how he manages to take an unplanned dip in the water on some days remain a mystery, but the countless shared laughs during slippery rock escapades and precarious footing have become cherished moments. One memorable incident occurred at the conclusion of a long day of fishing on the Provo River. As we made our way back to our trucks, I had just stepped out of the water when I heard a sudden splash and a distant yell. Turning around, I rushed down the trail to peer through the bushes, only to witness the humorous sight of my friend’s feet pointing skyward, flailing in the air. How he ended up facedown in the river remains a puzzle, but after the obligatory “Are you okay?” came nothing but hearty laughter. When it came time to christen our business, the memories of Soggy Waders flooded back, and the name stuck. Whether you occasionally find yourself taking an unexpected plunge or gracefully keep your waders soggy through hours spent chasing fish, we invite you to savor and cherish the memories made.

We trust that you’ll derive as much joy as we do from our offerings, and that your adventures with Soggy Waders will be filled with enduring, lighthearted moments and epic fish tales!
